ABOUT DeQUINCY
DeQUINCY , LA is located on in the lower southwestern region of Louisiana in Calcasieu Parish and is part of the Lake Charles metropolitan area. The town has a population of less than 4,000 residents. Historically DeQuincy was a lumber and railroad town when the Kansas City Southern Railroad completed its railroad tracks and built a depot. The area in those days was rich in timber since the only timber cut initially was for the railroad tracks. Today DeQuincy is known as a small city with a big heart. Tourism attractions include the DeQuincy Railroad Museum, Old City Hall / Police Station and All Saints Church. The DeQuincy high school features athletic teams called the Fighting Tigers.
